Palliative Ostschweiz is a section of Palliative CH

We promote and strengthen encounters, the exchange of information and experiences, as well as connections and cooperation between individuals and institutions committed to palliative medicine, care, and support in the Eastern Switzerland region.

Ensuring basic palliative care:
We contribute to ensuring that comprehensive palliative care services are available throughout Eastern Switzerland.

Volunteer and hospice services in Eastern Switzerland
Formal volunteer work is a cornerstone of palliative care. Formal, institutionalized, or organized volunteer work is defined as unpaid, honorary, and voluntary activities in associations and organizations. Formal volunteer work therefore takes place outside the immediate family. It offers patients and their caregivers support during illness, the final stages of life, and beyond. Formal volunteer work helps ensure that sick people are cared for in the place of their choice and relieves the burden on caregivers. It promotes intergenerational cohesion and is an example of solidarity in action in society.

Bereavement groups and bereavement cafés
Time and again, we find ourselves in situations that push us to our limits. These are usually situations in which we are confronted with death, separation, or social taboos. We react with anger and bewilderment, with grief. In such moments, our tears become our language.

Educational opportunities and providers
The IG Education and Research group deals with fundamental issues in the field of education. It incorporates current studies into its work or initiates research projects that are useful for education or can be integrated into education as a basis.
