A home for people suffering from dementia requires a sense of security, warmth, and tranquility—yet still provides motivation to remain active. Safety and orientation are also very important.

This means that the design of the rooms should non-verbally convey a sense of home.

This was implemented as follows:
Dark oak flooring – evokes memories of down-to-earthness and creates a sense of security.

Harmonious color scheme on the walls – encourages movement, provides warmth and a sense of well-being.

Lighting – sufficient light
that does not cast shadows and radiates calm.

Textiles – good glare protection.

The decor of the curtains, color-coordinated with the shades on the walls, is only at eye level for the residents, lending the room a sense of security.
