I attended school in my hometown of Thun until graduating with a Matura A certificate in classical languages and literature (Latin, Greek, Hebrew). After studying medicine at the University of Bern, I received my license to practice medicine and my doctorate from the Faculty of Medicine in Bern. I got my first assistant position in the surgical department of the Langenthal Regional Hospital (Dr. med. H. Lüdi), during which time I was also able to work in the anesthesia department (Dr. med. H. Krings). After completing this "year abroad," I moved to Zurich and began my actual specialist training at the University Women's Hospital there (Prof. Dr. med. W.E. Schreiner, Prof. Dr. med. A. Huch, Prof. Dr. med. G. Duc).

I spent the last few years until the end of my specialist training at the University Women's Hospital in Bern (Prof. Dr. med. M. Berger, Prof. Dr. med. G. von Muralt). After completing my training and opening my own practice in Thun, I was granted permission to continue working as an attending physician at the Women's Hospital in Bern. During this time,

I was involved in teaching students (block teaching) and at the midwifery school of the Women's Clinic, and as a teacher of obstetrics and gynecology at the University Children's Hospital (Prof. Dr. med. Ettore Rossi). At a later date, I expanded my hospital work to include the Beau-Site Clinic in Bern and Siloah AG in Gümligen.

Following the reorientation of these clinics, which initially stopped offering obstetrics and then gynecology, I now work exclusively as an attending physician at the Interlaken and Frutigen fmi hospitals.

My main focus is on surgical gynecology and obstetrics, particularly minimally invasive procedures, which I have been striving to apply from the very beginning, initially as part of several training stays at the University Women's Hospital in Kiel (Prof. K. Semm, MD, Prof. L. Mettler, MD). I am married to a physician's assistant. We have one son and two daughters.
