OPIOSTOP

OPIOSTOP is a treatment concept for opioid dependence that uses ANR therapy: an opioid withdrawal carried out under general anaesthesia, offered at selected partner clinics such as Spital Interlaken.[2]

In Switzerland, OPIOSTOP treatment is offered at Spital Interlaken, located at Weissenaustrasse 27, 3800 Unterseen, as one of the dedicated withdrawal clinics.[1][2]

OPIOSTOP follows the ANR principle: under general anaesthesia, opioid receptors are rapidly reset while external opioids are discontinued, aiming to restore the equilibrium between endogenous endorphins and receptors and thus avoid the typical severe withdrawal symptoms and craving.[2]

According to OPIOSTOP, every treatment at its withdrawal clinics is carried out personally on site by Dr. med. Patricia Manndorff together with her team, with continuous psychiatric services ensured during the entire treatment period.[2]

The OPIOSTOP website describes an intensive inpatient treatment period around the anaesthesia-assisted withdrawal and subsequent stabilization, but does not state a fixed standard length of stay; the exact duration is clarified individually with the clinic.[2]
