Gemeindeverwaltung Untervaz

The municipality of Untervaz is located on the left side of the Grisons Rhine Valley and nestles harmoniously at the foot of the Calanda mountain in the corner of the Val Cosenz. Away from the major traffic routes, but still very well connected by all modes of transport, the population of our village has almost doubled in the last 40 years, and today we have around 2,620 inhabitants. The village has grown steadily from a small farming village. Industry, commerce, and trade play an important role.

More than 30 active cultural and sports clubs testify to the fact that the village is alive and kicking and not just a place to sleep for those who work in the nearby capital of Chur. The existing infrastructure and intact local recreation areas enable everyone to make good use of their free time and enjoy community life.

A village community thrives on an active population and residents who are involved in clubs and other activities. We look forward to meeting you at a community meeting, the fall market, or another occasion.
