Final inspection

Safety inspection carried out by the electrical installer or subcontracted to an independent inspection body before the installation is handed over to the owner.

Periodic inspection

Every 20 years: Residential buildings

Every 10 years: Administrative premises, industrial workshops
Every 5 years: Large commercial and industrial buildings, restaurants, schools
Every year: Construction sites, markets, fairs

 

Acceptance inspection

Applies to new installations outside residential premises. It is carried out within 6 months of the installation being handed over to the owner. It is carried out by an inspection body that is independent of the installer who carried out the work

Inspection when buying/selling a property

When purchasing real estate, the buyer must have the electrical installations inspected. The notary therefore sets out the terms and conditions in the sales contract. Although strongly recommended, this is not mandatory if the last electrical inspection of the property was carried out less than 5 years ago.
