The shipyard

For over 40 years, our work has been our passion, which is why we are only happy when our customers are happy too. Ours is a family-run business, which is why we take the utmost care to ensure that our work is carried out in the best possible way.

The warehouse and offices located in Vira Gambarogno on the shores of Lake Maggiore were built in the 1950s and, after a period of disuse, were converted into a shipyard in the late 1970s.

Since its foundation in 1978 under the name Acquamondo, the shipyard, which is also one of the first to be built on Lake Maggiore and in Ticino, has been managed by the Santomauro family, who took it over in 1985.

Since its inception, the shipyard has continuously expanded and evolved. Currently, thanks to the experience gained in over 40 years of activity and a qualified and motivated team, we manage over 150 boats and have two warehouses for boat storage.

In 2010, Santomauro SA, seeking to offer its customers an increasingly comprehensive and accurate service and looking for new synergies with a sector complementary to that of boating, acquired Boerlin Lavori Subacquei SA, a leading company on Lake Maggiore in the underwater works sector.
We therefore also take care of everything related to mooring your boat, such as the installation and maintenance of buoy systems, the custom construction of piers and haulage systems, the maintenance of marinas, and much more.

Underwater work

In 2010, we acquired the underwater works company Boerlin SA and now also offer a range of services related to this sector, such as: buoy system checks, underwater ROV searches and inspections, vessel recovery, custom construction of floating and fixed piers, construction and maintenance of rail or lifting haulage systems, and much more.
