Gartenbau Schalbetter

Our team consists of 3-6 employees, depending on the season.
The managing director of the Schalbetter Garden Center is Christian Schalbetter, a certified gardener from Grengiols.

Garden design and maintenance
 
The design, creation, and modification of environments is a major part of our business.
Our services: planting, irrigation, new installations, alterations, maintenance, lawn care, grave maintenance, excavation work. Here are some pictures of projects we have completed.

Fruit trees
 
Every gardening enthusiast wants to harvest their own fruit and berries and enjoy the fruit they have picked themselves.
During the fruit season from March to the end of April and from October onwards, the garden center has a large assortment of fruit trees. Around 35 different types of fruit are available, which can be purchased as bushes, half-standard trees, or standard trees. The trees are mostly bare-rooted, but can also be purchased in pots during the summer months.
 
Ornamental trees and shrubs
 
Alternating foliage colors, enchanting flower colors, bright fruit decorations, changing autumn colors, impressive growth forms—all these are reasons why deciduous trees play an important role in our gardens.
The Schalbetter Garden Center has a large assortment of trees and shrubs available in various sizes. The plants are of course also delivered and professionally planted.
 
Conifers
 
Conifers are extremely versatile.
Whether as solitary trees, hedges, or underplantings, whether in rock gardens, in troughs, or on graves, conifers look good everywhere, ideally in combination with deciduous trees and shrubs. These hardy plants are ideal, especially in the harsh climate of the Upper Valais. Numerous shapes and colors of this plant genus are available at the garden center.
 
Floweringperennials
 
Flowering perennials and cushion plants are ideal for creating special effects with delicate or bright colors, or for covering entire areas.
Ornamental grasses, ferns, culinary herbs, wild perennials, or ground cover perennials—at the Schalbetter garden center, you can choose from around 90 varieties during the season.
 
Roses
 
Roses love open, sunny, semi-shaded locations. Extremely hot embankments are not a good location for most rose varieties. Waterlogging damages roses.
When replacing roses in the same location, the soil should be generously replaced with new garden soil to a depth of 40-50 cm. Pruning roses is also more time-consuming than with other plants, but roses reward us for our efforts with beautiful, seemingly endless blooms. In spring, roses are available bare-rooted, and from May onwards in pots. Container roses can be planted all year round, even when in bloom.
 
Summer bloom
 
In spring, we also offer summer flowers such as geraniums, begonias, surfinias, etc.
 
Extras
 
We also have a large selection of pots and planters, various fertilizers and plant protection products, as well as seeds and granules.
 
Playhouses
 
We also offer children's playhouses that can be set up in public areas or privately at home. We have such playhouses on display in our garden center in Visp, so you can see for yourself.
 
The playhouse with terrace, dream house, and pirate ship are certified and can be set up in public playgrounds.
 
Our products are designed so that children cannot trap their fingers.
The boards are edged on all four sides, making the wood splinter-free. The windows are made of shatterproof Plexiglas.
 
The playhouses are delivered painted or unpainted. They are delivered in complete side elements and roof elements.
Two people can assemble them in 1-3 hours, depending on the type.
