From event venues and food trucks to on-site catering
Martin and Manuel, the two managing directors and friends of Kupferkessel GmbH, are well prepared.
The trained chefs bring with them a wealth of gastronomic experience, lots of contemporary ideas, the necessary relaxed attitude, and a huge amount of ambition and joy in cooking.
In 2023, they enthusiastically turned the business concept of the once successful St. Wendelin on its head and transformed the historic restaurant into a modern event venue.
Known far beyond the canton's borders, more than 200 event organizers – including more than 60 wedding couples – look forward to the culinary support of the two gentlemen every year.
With their creative flair and down-to-earth, high-quality cuisine, the restaurateurs have their finger on the pulse of the times. However, they offer more than just culinary highlights. With their intuition, they also know how to make every event an absolute highlight – for example, with their two beautiful, state-of-the-art food trucks or by cooking delicious dishes over an open fire in a large copper cauldron.
In order to give not only the festival community a place in their calendar, public events are also organized at the new event venue in Wauwil (see agenda).
However, the two don't just go full throttle in the kitchen. With their subsidiaries "restau-rent.ch" and "fräss-sack.ch," they offer their professional equipment for rent and sell refined foods made from food waste. The versatile, innovative gastronomic concept is rounded off by the company "bigfood.ch," which is about to be launched and will offer a platform for takeaways for restaurants.
But the story of the two twenty-somethings actually began quite differently.
The very different yet very similar young and ambitious chefs, who complement each other in every way, wanted to shake up the emerging street food scene at festivals.
Together, the two decided to restore a trailer from the ground up and set it up in such a way that they could cover various food concepts without major restrictions.
But after just a few festivals, requests for private events skyrocketed, and so the business concept changed. They quickly realized that it was a great privilege to be an important part of private, festive events.
In 2018, the duo took over a restaurant in Hitzkirch, Lucerne. With a top-notch team, very loyal guests, and a flexible concept, they revived the restaurant, which had been in hibernation for several years, and breathed new life into the village center. Together, they steered the Kupferkessel restaurant through the crisis unscathed, even during the difficult Corona period.
The steady growth and the resulting reorientation prompted the team to move to a larger location. However, they did not achieve this alone. In addition to a dynamic team, the now established restaurateurs are supported by two down-to-earth partners who back them up and give them the freedom they need.
One of them, Ramona, was also the hostess and head waitress at the Kupferkessel restaurant, where she welcomed every guest with her intuition and warm and courteous manner. Her knack and flair for loving interior design and perfectly coordinated decoration are widely known. Her commitment, which is always 100% dedicated to the company, contributes greatly to the restaurateurs' success.
With the future focus on "Catering & Event," we can look forward to seeing what creative ideas the trio will come up with and implement for the benefit of their happy customers.
