Thermal plant
The Weinfelden thermal plant consists of a waste incineration plant (WIP). The waste delivered is thermally treated in a grate furnace. The heat produced during combustion is recovered in the boilers in the form of steam. The steam is used directly as heat: process heat is obtained for industry and electricity is produced using a turbine.
Large waste disposal companies and industrial enterprises with 250 or more employees have the option of delivering combustible waste directly to the Thurgau waste incineration plant. Direct deliveries are only possible with vehicles that can tip or discharge. The Thurgau Waste Incineration Plant Association issues a batch to these customers. The Thurgau Waste Incineration Plant Association has sole discretion in issuing a batch.
