My name is Ming Metzger-Wan. I have been treating patients in my own practice in Winterthur's old town for over 10 years. Bright, friendly, and spacious treatment rooms ensure your comfort and privacy. I consult and treat you personally, without an interpreter. Diagnosis and treatment are more personal and accurate.
I look forward to your call.

About me
I was born and raised in Nanning in the southern Chinese province of Guangxi. The landscape with the sugar loaf mountains and the Li River near the city of Guilin in the north of my home province is world-famous. The sky-high rice terraces near Sanjiang are also attracting more and more visitors from all over the world.
I come from an old family of scholars; my father is a dentist with his own practice, my mother is a biologist, and my siblings have also studied medicine. I myself studied and practiced conventional medicine and traditional Chinese medicine at Guangxi Medical University in Nanning.
I have been living in Switzerland for 30 years. I started a family here. I worked in various TCM practices for several years. I was able to gain a lot of experience and benefit greatly from the knowledge of older TCM doctors from China. This is certainly where my huge advantage of being a native Chinese speaker comes in: I can easily exchange professional information with other TCM specialists, whether here in Switzerland or in China. During my stays in China, I completed further training and internships. Thanks to my knowledge of German, I can treat you without an interpreter, which not only makes the conversations more accurate and efficient, but also more personal.
Chinese medicine has fascinated me since my studies, because it is much more than just a profession for me. My goal is to help as many people as possible with TCM, to alleviate pain and to show that acupuncture and Chinese medicine are serious and reputable healing methods and sciences.
About TCM
Traditional Chinese Medicine – Your path to well-being
Traditional Chinese Medicine is a form of therapy that stimulates the body's self-healing powers through targeted stimuli. Ancient Chinese healers recognized early on that a healthy mind is a prerequisite for a healthy body, as the two are inextricably linked.
With a history dating back over three thousand years, TCM is considered the oldest and most famous holistic healing art in the world.
As a form of natural medicine, it is used in China on an equal footing with Western medicine, known as conventional medicine.
In today's high-tech world, people are often no longer aware of this holistic knowledge. Complicated treatments, which are often one-sided and have numerous side effects, are the consequences of frequently overspecialized Western medicine. Chinese naturopathy is a useful complement here, as it considers the whole body and not just individual symptoms in its diagnosis and treatment.
Traditional Chinese medicine:
Health and well-being the natural way
The gentle healing method with no side effects.

Methods
Overview of the most common methods
Acupuncture
Acupuncture influences bodily functions in a targeted manner via specific points on the body's surface. Inserting needles to varying depths at over 360 acupuncture points balances the circulation of qi and regulates certain organ systems.
Medicinal herbs
The 400 most commonly used Chinese medicines are usually prescribed as complex formulas; the ingredients are finely balanced to optimally tailor the mixture to the patient.
Heat treatment (moxa)
Moxibustion warms the acupuncture points by burning dried leaves of Artemisia vulgaris (mugwort). Mugwort is a medicinal plant native to both Asia and Europe.
Cupping
In cupping, the meridians are stimulated with cupping glasses. Cupping therapy is particularly suitable for treating the outer layers such as muscles and skin.
Food therapy (dietetics)
Every food has a specific effect on the body. In this respect, foods are mild therapeutic agents and can be used specifically to support and strengthen the body.
