The feet: the basis of all activities

Humans have depended on their feet since the beginning of time, but generally pay far too little attention to them.
Yet feet are complex masterpieces of nature. They perform heavy work by enabling us to stand and walk for hours on end.

First complaints

It is only when feet start to hurt that we notice them. Corns, ingrown and thickened toenails, excessive calluses on the soles of the feet, or cracked skin on the heels can develop, all of which require professional treatment. Or you may simply want beautiful, well-groomed feet through appropriate cosmetic foot care. Our podiatrists will be happy to help you with all these aspects with professional foot care and advice.

Podiatry

Podiatry is medical foot care – in contrast to pedicure, which only deals with the cosmetic aspects of the foot. The profession of podiatrist requires a 3-year apprenticeship, which leads to the Swiss Federal Certificate of Competence (SPV, EFZ). In the canton of Zurich, operating a podiatry practice also requires a license from the Zurich Cantonal Health Department.

The work of a podiatrist includes, among other things, cutting nails correctly and treating ingrown toenails, nail fungus, and thickened toenails. Removing painful corns and excessive calluses is part of the daily routine.

Who are our customers/patients?

All people who have any kind of problems or pain in their feet are our customers. We also have customers who value pain-free and beautifully cared-for feet, or who are no longer able to care for their feet themselves.

High-risk patients: diabetics, people on anticoagulants (blood thinners), rheumatism patients, customers/patients with arterial or venous circulatory disorders. Post-operative treatment.

Podiatric treatment is demanding. You should therefore ensure that you entrust the care of your feet to a trained podiatrist who is a member of the SPV. This designation guarantees that your foot problems are in good and qualified hands.

In addition, PODOLOGIE Novopede also offers all cosmetic pedicure services, with or without nail polish, so that your feet are always well-groomed.

Podiatry

Medical foot care is suitable for customers with sensitive feet who are severely restricted in their everyday quality of life, e.g., ingrown toenails, corns, foot and nail fungus, thickened toenails or excessive calluses and corns, cracked skin on the heels. Diabetics are also very welcome and in competent hands.

Pedicure

Cosmetic foot care is aimed at clients who want to take preventive and benevolent care of their feet, e.g., by optimizing and beautifying their toenails, applying nail polish, removing calluses, etc.

Orthonyxia / brace technique

In the case of ingrown toenails, the brace technique can be used to support optimal and pain-free nail growth.

Orthotic technique

For pressure points on the toes,
corns between the toes, hammer toes, claw toes, etc., for which ready-made relief and/or padding material is not optimal, we manufacture custom-made silicone relief.

Nail prosthetics

Missing toenails (due to birth, accident, or temporary loss) are completely or partially reconstructed using a gel material. The artificial nail protects the nail bed and is an adequate nail replacement that can also be painted if desired.
