Our goal is to take time for you. We want to provide careful care for your pet(s)—whether dogs, cats, or, to a limited extent, other domestic animals (excluding birds, reptiles, amphibians, and fish)—and offer you high-quality, modern medical care. We can perform most of the everyday preventive medicine, diagnostics, and therapy here in our practice. For the remaining cases, we work together with specialists (including complementary medicine practitioners).
We always strive to keep up to date with the latest medical developments through literature and continuing education so that we can offer you the most suitable therapies and solutions.
Animal species
We mainly treat dogs and cats. Unfortunately, we have limited facilities for small pets (mice, rats, hamsters, guinea pigs, rabbits).
Reptiles, amphibians, and fish require specialist training (zoo veterinarian), which we are unfortunately unable to provide in our practice.
Consultation
We only hold consultation hours by telephone appointment (no emails). It is important to us that our customers have to wait as little as possible. Therefore, please reserve your desired appointment early!
In emergencies, we may have to treat an animal in between appointments, so we ask for your understanding if you have to wait longer than expected.
If you are unable to keep an appointment, please notify us 24 hours in advance to avoid being charged for a missed consultation.
Home visits (only for our own clients)
We are happy to visit you at home after making an appointment by phone and if our schedule allows. However, please note that the diagnostic and therapeutic options are very limited in such cases. The travel costs for the house call are calculated based on the distance to the practice.
Emergencies
Since 2011, we have been affiliated with the Winterthur Veterinary Emergency Service. The veterinary practice on duty outside our practice opening hours can be reached on 0900 908 908 (CHF 3.50/min.), namely...
- Thursday afternoon (from 12 noon)
- overnight (6:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.)
- on weekends, public holidays, and holidays (8 a.m. to 10 p.m.)
Between 10:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m., please contact the Zurich Animal Hospital: Tel. 044 635 81 12
At lunchtime, our answering machine will give you the number where we can be reached.
Briefly describe what happened, when, how, and the condition of the animal (responsiveness, behavior, bleeding, wounds, etc.). This will enable us to give you first aid tips over the phone.

Services
Reminders
We send written or email reminders for vaccinations, heat prevention, and program injections (against fleas).
Surgery/anesthesia
If your pet needs surgery or anesthesia, you will be given an appointment early in the morning whenever possible. Your pet should be fasted (no food for 10 hours beforehand; water is allowed), cleaned, and dropped off on time at the agreed-upon time.
You can usually pick up your pet on the same day between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. We keep our patients with us for this length of time to ensure that they wake up without any problems and are well cared for during this period.
Please be sure to leave a phone number so that we can contact you if we have any questions.
When the time comes to say goodbye...
We are also there for you at the end of your pet's life. Upon request, we will accompany/visit you at home and take care of all the arrangements for cremation.
Rates
We adhere to the standard regional rates, whereby, according to WEKO (Competition Commission), NO agreements may be made between veterinarians. This results in different prices between practices.
The VAT rate for services is 8%. Food and medication can be sold at the reduced rate of 2.5%.
Payment
Services and products are generally payable immediately:
- Cash
- With Maestro card (EC)
- With Postcard
- In exceptional cases only by invoice (and with a surcharge), payable immediately upon receipt, strictly net!
- Deposit for complex treatments
