Rapid development of new technologies

Thanks to better insulation in new buildings and today's possibilities for energy-efficient renovation of old buildings, the heating requirements of single-family homes are constantly decreasing. Absorber technology

The heat generated by burning logs is stored by the mass of the stove. It is released evenly into the environment over a longer period of time. With absorber technology, it is possible to heat a single-family home exclusively with a storage stove. For this purpose, an absorber is additionally installed between the fireclay core and the casing.

The water flowing through the absorber is heated and fed into the heating pipe network. An absorber is a plate heat exchanger consisting of a plate (aluminum, copper, etc.) with a tightly coiled copper pipe permanently mounted on it. Water flows continuously through the copper pipe. The pipe is the actual heat exchanger. The copper plate serves to increase the surface area of the pipe in order to extract as much heat as possible from the furnace.

Company history

Hafnerei Hügin is firmly established in the region. Thanks to Josef Hügin, who founded the business in Ettingen in 1966. Twenty years later, his son Hanspeter successfully took over the reins and, at the same time, moved the company's headquarters to the neighboring village of Witterswil for capacity reasons. Now it is the turn of the third generation. In the summer of 2007, his son Sascha successfully completed his second apprenticeship as a stove fitter with a respected stove builder in the region. He has had his first qualification as an electrician since 2000. This basic knowledge now serves him well in his work as a stove fitter.

The company's basic principle is: there is always a solution, everywhere. Working closely with a long list of architects, the company benefits from its strong sense of practicality. The exhibition at the company's headquarters at Bahnhofstrasse 9 in Witterswil impressively demonstrates the wide range of possibilities for optimally converting wood into heat. It goes without saying that the latest and most stringent provisions of the Clean Air Act are also a top priority.
