Insoles for diabetics

Diabetics' sensitivity to pain is often severely limited even in the early stages of the disease. They are only partially aware of foot problems. For the sake of their health, diabetic feet therefore require special attention.

Our feet are exposed to a variety of stresses during daily activities. Pain tells us when the strain becomes too great or when injuries occur. Diabetics lack this vital warning system. Pressure points, inflammation, or injuries are hardly noticed. This can have dangerous consequences, especially because diabetics also have poor circulation, open wounds become infected quickly, and heal poorly.

Diabetes-adapted insoles

Insoles for diabetics support the foot without correcting it. They distribute pressure and thus relieve painful areas, ulcers, or other open wounds on the sole of the foot and ensure that the joints are not strained when walking.

Diabetic shoes

Shoes for diabetics must not be too wide or too narrow, and must not have hard seams or padding. There are various manufacturers who offer different models made especially for diabetics. Lingg Orthopädie works with products from the Finn Comfort and Perfect Footwork (DIA Protection line) brands.

Analysis and diagnosis

From a detailed manual and digital examination of your feet and gait to the finished, custom-fit insole, Lingg Orthopädie provides you with a comprehensive, personalized service.

Once you have decided on an insole from Lingg Orthopädie, we begin with a comprehensive manual examination of your feet. This includes a functional analysis, precise measurement of your joint mobility, and determination of any muscular imbalances. In addition, I perform a detailed gait analysis, taking into account the position of your knees and pelvis, your spine, and your head posture.

Once all examinations have been completed, I can make an accurate diagnosis and define the appropriate measures and remedies to help you move without pain and prevent further damage.

Digital foot scan

The customized insole is manufactured based on a digital scan of your foot. An optical measuring system records the pressure distribution of your foot sole within a few seconds. The data obtained in this way is processed electronically. I create a 3D model of your insole on the computer. The shape, arch, and texture are defined. The insole is first manufactured by machine, then carefully finished by hand with millimeter precision. Repeated foot scans allow the changes in your feet to be accurately documented.
