René Chantal

She has a deep passion for creativity in her genes, which she channels into her work with enthusiasm, mindfulness, and care. Chantal René was born in Kinshasa (DRC) and grew up in Switzerland. After completing a three-year training program as a hairdresser, she lived in Los Angeles, where she worked successfully as a hair stylist before returning to Zurich.

In 1991, she learned the art of makeup artistry at the Complexion International School in London. Years later, she also trained as a makeup artist with Klaus Börmert in Germany. For several years, she has also been teaching as a freelance lecturer at the Glossarium Makeup & Hair Academy in Basel, where she shares her knowledge and many years of experience with young future hair and makeup artists.

Her references speak for themselves: Chantal René has worked with international fashion photographers. Celebrities such as Tina Turner and Ray Charles have entrusted themselves to her, as have Victoria's Secret top models Lais Riberio, Chanel Iman, Karoline Kurkova, Irina Shayk, and Andreja Pejic.

Chantal René was born in Kinshasa, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, which has been instrumental in her creative expression and joy in "face painting." After completing a 3-year course in hairstyling in Zurich, she relocated to Los Angeles where she worked professionally as a hairstylist before returning to Zurich. Shortly thereafter, she went to England to study at The Complexion International School in London, where she learnt her craft as a makeup artist, and later honed her skill in stage and special effects makeup in Germany.

Chantal is presently teaching at Glossarium Academy in Basel, where she is sharing her knowledge in makeup and hairstyling with young adults. She is also working as a makeup artist/hairstylist for many international fashion photographers, and offers private workshops in makeup.
