Your rheumatology/orthopedic specialist in Zug
Holistic approach – The basis for your health
My motivation for taking a holistic approach is to give you the feeling that you are receiving the best possible treatment. The assessment is based on a solution-oriented manual examination, supplemented by state-of-the-art technical procedures.
We treat complaints following injuries, acute and degenerative problems of the joints and spine, functional complaints, and muscle pain.
Almost all options within the conservative treatment spectrum are available.
In addition, we have excellent connections with first-class specialists to arrange any necessary further examinations and treatments, such as operations.

Rheumatology
Rheumatology deals with the diagnosis and treatment of so-called rheumatic diseases, although the term is not clearly defined. "Rheumatism" is commonly used to refer to chronic inflammatory changes in the joints and spine, but soft tissue structures and internal organs can also be affected. However, most pain in the musculoskeletal system is not inflammatory in nature.
During my rheumatology and orthopedics training, which led to me becoming a dual specialist in orthopedics and rheumatology, I saw many deformed and destroyed musculoskeletal structures and performed surgical procedures to improve pain and function.
Diagnostics:
- Digital X-ray
- Ultrasound
- Laboratory tests
- Use of the Rheumatool
Therapy:
- Manual medicine
- Acupuncture
- Cryonic Medical (cold therapy)
- Ultrasound and image-guided injections, especially for spinal and disc problems
- Modern drug therapy for inflammatory diseases, including infusion therapy
- Supply of bandages, orthoses, and other aids
Orthopedics
As a specialist in orthopedics and traumatology, I have over 20 years of surgical experience, including specialized rheumatic orthopedic surgery. I am also a specialist in rheumatology.
As a surgeon, I was particularly interested in performing operations as gently as possible and only when all other promising measures had been exhausted.
Efforts to alleviate symptoms and impairments without surgery have led to a decrease in the frequency of surgical procedures in my practice.
We offer the following orthopedic examinations and treatment procedures in our practice:
Diagnostics
- Digital X-ray
- Ultrasound of the musculoskeletal system
- Ultrasound of infant hips according to Graf
- Bone density measurement with DXA (in cooperation with Zug Cantonal Hospital)
Therapy
- Chiropractic, atlas therapy
- Injection treatments of the spine and joints under image converter and ultrasound control (interventional pain therapy)
- Hyaluronic acid injections for osteoarthritis, tendon and ligament damage
- Supply of bandages and orthoses
- Treatment of sports injuries and damage
- Classic and medical taping
Acupuncture
Acupuncture is gentler than injections and often more effective than other methods. This has also been proven in several large studies, which showed that acupuncture is just as effective or even more effective than conventional methods or medication for headaches, osteoarthritis (joint wear), especially in the knee and hip joints, and back pain.
We offer the following acupuncture methods in our rheumatology and orthopedic practice:
- Traditional acupuncture
- Trigger point acupuncture
- Pain acupuncture
Chiropractic
The term chiropractic originates from America, where the first school of chiropractic was founded by Daniel David Palmer in 1897. The method is based on the manipulative treatment of the spine and joints to correct functional disorders.
I have been using these methods in my practice with great success for over 20 years and have continually added new facets and techniques to provide you with an optimized, individualized treatment plan. Recently, osteopathic techniques, some of which are similar to other manual techniques, have also been added to the treatment plan.
- Manual medicine of the spine and joints
- Chiropractic
- HIO (Hole In One) technique
- Atlas therapy
- Manual muscle treatment
Osteology
Osteology = the study of bones, deals with all bone diseases, especially
osteoporosis
Osteoporosis, also known as bone loss, is a disease of the skeletal system. It is typically characterized by reduced bone mass and porous bone architecture. These factors lead to weakened bones that break more easily.
Diagnosis:
- Determination of individual risk
- X-ray, fully digital at our clinic
- Bone density measurement (DXA) at Zug Cantonal Hospital
- Laboratory tests
Therapy:
- Specific drug therapy with modern medication
- Provision of orthotics if necessary
- Advice on necessary vitamins and minerals as well as invasive measures
As a DVO-certified osteologist (www.dv-osteologie.org), I am available to you as a specialist in bone diseases, particularly osteoporosis.
