Schwyter Benz Architekten AG was founded in 2014 by business partners Christian Schwyter and Marc Benz. In its diverse projects, schwyter benz always takes into account the specific characteristics of the location, whether it is a renovation or a new construction project. This search for clues begins with a thorough analysis, continues through all further project planning phases, and ultimately ends with the completed construction project. Until their merger in 2014, Christian Schwyter and Marc Benz worked in their independent architectural firms christian schwyter architektur and benz architektur.

In memory of Marc Benz

It is with great gratitude that we say goodbye to our long-time friend, companion, and business partner Marc Benz. We have many creative years behind us, designing and planning together. What began as a creative exchange between our two independent studios culminated in 2014 in our architectural firm Schwyter Benz Architekten.

We are proud of what we have achieved as a team over the past decade. Together, we have always been committed to tailor-made, high-quality architecture. Thanks to our wide-ranging network and many recommendations, we have completed renovations and new buildings of varying sizes, complexity, and requirements. We have participated in competitions and studies, often winning, but sometimes losing. We celebrated our first success while still students. Marc and I took part in an international competition called 'competition for a treehouse in a tropical resort' and won a month-long stay in Hawaii. That sounds like an enticing start to a joint career.

During our collaboration, we usually came up with the designs separately, but always questioned, consulted, and developed them together. In terms of content and concept, we acted according to the same principles, often arrived at new insights, pursued them with curiosity, and shared them. Constructive dialogue about the location, the intended use, the people-oriented space, and its detailed implementation was very important to us—this inspiring collaboration unites us all in the team, and we will continue on this path. Just as Marc would have wanted.

Marc was a cheerful person, a critical thinker, a loyal business partner, and a dear friend.
