SanArena Rettungsschule

The SanArena Rescue School is a foundation of the Zurich Cantonal Bank. The purpose of the foundation is to provide the general public with as much knowledge and correct behavior as possible in medical emergencies.

The SanArena Rescue School has been in existence for over 40 years and has trained well over 200,000 people in emergency first aid during this time. Every year, around 10,000 people attend our courses, training sessions, and educational programs. We have modern training facilities at our headquarters in Zurich.
Our emergency aid course is unique in Switzerland. The realistic scenarios enable sustainable training. Our goal is to offer participants in refresher courses new, realistic training situations time and time again.

The trainers
SanArena employs around 40 part-time trainers. The majority of our teaching staff work in hospitals, emergency services, or other medical organizations. These are people who work in a variety of professions in their everyday lives, such as paramedics, emergency doctors, anesthetists, nurses, intensive care nurses, surgical nurses, and medical practice assistants. At SanArena, courses are taught in German and, in some cases, also in French and English.
In addition to their specialist knowledge, our teachers have methodological and didactic training. This enables SanArena to ensure level-appropriate, attractive, and sustainable training. Regular further training and self-assessment lead to the ongoing development of the courses on offer and the necessary quality assurance.

Our customers
Our customers come to us in Zurich from all over Switzerland. However, many courses are also held at the customer's premises. First aid is a topic that concerns everyone. That is why our customer base is made up of different professional, private, and social groups. Numerous banks, insurance companies, industrial and commercial enterprises, schools, associations, federal and cantonal agencies, hospitals, professional associations, etc. rely on SanArena when it comes to training for medical emergencies.
