The Swiss Greina Foundation (SGS) has been dedicated to protecting alpine rivers in their pristine and natural state for four decades. Founded in 1986 from a citizens' movement that successfully prevented a hydropower plant on the Greina plateau, the foundation today works to preserve Switzerland's unique natural and cultural heritage. Through projects like ALPEX, it bridges the gap between science and nature conservation.
