Helmut Bauer Akademie

With 30 years of professional experience as a medical massage therapist and certified physical therapist, coupled with ongoing continuing education and training in a wide range of physical therapy specialties—including neurophysiology, manual therapy, orthopedic medicine, sports physical therapy, and rehabilitation—my unceasing thirst for knowledge is evident. In 2012, I completed a master’s program in complementary medicine and cultural studies, which allowed me to expand my expertise in neural therapy, environmental and mitochondrial medicine, nutrition, and phytotherapy.

In my practice as an independent therapist, I have combined the aforementioned treatment methods for many years with great success.

In 1992, I began teaching as an assistant in the PNF department at the VPT. Starting in 1994, I taught PNF and medical training therapy independently as a lecturer. Additional specialties were added over the years, such as manual therapy, orthopedic medicine, electrotherapy, workplace health management, orthopedics, and rheumatology.

Today, training young people is my top priority.

As a result, I have the opportunity to share my knowledge at three different schools.

HWS Basel

Since 2017, I have been teaching medical subjects at HWS in Basel for the training programs to become a Fitness & Movement Trainer as well as a "Specialist in Movement and Health Promotion" with a federal certificate.

During this time, I authored my textbooks as well as the journal "Fitness Gym & Nutrition."

Benedict School St. Gallen

At the Benedict School, we train professional massage therapists and medical massage therapists with a federal certificate.

As part of this program, we are a team of instructors who guide students through their training until the final exam. During this program, I teach anatomy, physiology, pathology, orthopedics, BGM, and electrotherapy.

At the sgmf, I teach BGM and electrotherapy. These modules are part of the training program for medical massage therapists.

OdAmm

For several years now, I have served as an exam expert for OdAmm. I was very happy to take on this role. It brings me great joy and satisfaction to see how much knowledge the candidates have acquired during their training. The role and responsibility of a medical massage therapist toward patients should not be underestimated.

As an instructor, it is very important to me that the medical massage therapists we train have a chance in the job market. It is equally important to me that qualified therapists administer and evaluate the exams.

The Helmut Bauer Academy offers continuing education and advanced training for therapists who have completed their training. This includes courses in neuro-orthopedics, movement training, nutrition coaching, PNF, and medical training therapy.
