Since fall 2017, Marcel Zünd, managing director of ZZdesign, has been creating unique pieces of jewelry from veneer wood in picturesque Altstätten in the canton of St. Gallen. As a trained cabinetmaker, he combines his long-standing passion for wood with his craftsmanship to produce fascinating accessories such as bracelets, earrings, and necklaces.

Marcel discovered his enthusiasm for wood as a child and devoted himself to creating various objects from this natural material. He later turned his hobby into a profession and became a master carpenter. The idea of making jewelry from veneer also inspired his wife Anita, who has since enriched the company with her creative flair. Together, they design unique pieces of jewelry that are not only technically sophisticated, but also individual and personal.

For their creations, they use only high-quality European hardwoods such as maple, apple, pear, walnut, smoked oak, and stone oak. Each piece of veneer is unique, making every piece of jewelry one of a kind—perfect for people who appreciate special and personal accessories.
