For 15 years, the renovation of damaged joints with joint tapes has been an alternative to removing sealants and re-grouting. If the joint widths are too small, sealing with an adhesive joint tape is particularly effective, as the unadhesive tape width increases the effective joint width. Gluing the joint tape visually increases the joint width. In cases where the original joint pattern was impaired by varying joint widths, aesthetic defects are compensated for.

The choice of the most suitable sealing method is influenced by the respective local conditions and stresses.

Vapor and water barriers

It's stormy outside, someone's showering inside, and the water is turning to steam! This places high demands on the joints between building components: on the one hand, condensation must be able to escape to the outside, and on the other hand, the outer skin must be impervious to wind and rain. However, since building components can only absorb a limited amount of moisture, a properly dimensioned vapor barrier is needed on the inside.

The foil system used by Isowal is employed to seal buildings with curtain-type, rear-ventilated, and compact facades. The special bonding of the flexible foils between the building structure and the installed elements ensures a secure connection to the building structure and thus a permanent seal.

Combiflex

Anyone who fails to properly seal joints and connections in foundations in shafts, swimming pools, sewage systems, or canals will literally go under, because leaky structures in the ground cause trouble and costly rework. Isowal ag relies on Combiflex®, a high-quality sealing system for joints that are constantly exposed to water and for sealing cracks and undersized joints. The Combiflex system is installed according to the principle of joint tapes: Combiflex adhesive is used to apply the Combiflex foil to the corresponding leaky areas, thus ensuring 100% sealing.
