Vincenzo Sammarruco

Born in 1973 as an Italian citizen, I grew up and studied in Münchenstein, Baselland.

I discovered my talent and passion for drawing and painting at an early age. Through my uncle, Giovanni Sammarruco, I discovered oil painting and taught myself to follow his example.

When I was not accepted into the School of Design in Basel, I decided to complete an apprenticeship as an electrician. During my apprenticeship, I immediately felt an urge to pick up a hammer and chisel, so after completing my training as an electrician, I attended a trial apprenticeship as a stone sculptor. I knew immediately what I really wanted to do.

• From 1995 to 1999, I began and successfully completed an apprenticeship as a stone sculptor with Heinz Zemp.
• From 1999 to 2010, I gained experience and developed my skills with Alban Imhof in Laufen.
• 2010-2012  Employed by Paul Kistler in Biel-Benken.
• 2012              Finally self-employed.
