Spring—a time of change, a time of transition, a time of new beginnings!

With the new season, changes were also in store for our studio: at the end of March 2021, we handed over our business.

After 42 years, we have passed on our extensive professional expertise and the loyalty of our large international clientele to Johanna Baumgartner.

Johanna Baumgartner trained with us and many of our customers have already gotten to know her. She will continue our work with the same great craftsmanship and sensitivity for art. We would like to thank you: our work has fulfilled us every day throughout all these years and, in contact with you and all the wonderful masterpieces that have passed through our hands, has brought us joy time and time again. With the bridge building, we hope that you will continue to enjoy visiting the Prendina frame workshop.

About us:

Our framing studio in Basel, consisting of a workshop and shop, was founded in 1978 by Ginette Prendina, a federally certified framer, and Apostolos Yanneas, a federally certified crafts teacher. In March 2021, the business was handed over to long-time employee Johanna Baumgartner. Together with her three employees, she continues to run the workshop with the same level of craftsmanship and sensitivity for art.

Philosophy

In our work, we strive for elegance and respectful restraint towards the artwork. We consider it a creative challenge to place each individual object in an appropriate frame, in a finely balanced relationship: knowledgeably and with masterful craftsmanship – and with a great love of art.
