Unique thermal and wellness oasis

The unique thermal and wellness oasis in Brigerbad looks back on a long history. The hot thermal springs in Brigerbad were already known in Roman times. Under the leadership of Hans and Cécile Kalbermatten, the baths have developed since the 1950s into a modern thermal facility in the middle of the sun-drenched Rhone Valley in Valais. The springs, which are between 21 and 50 degrees Celsius, provide lithium-rich sodium-calcium-sulfate water that is particularly effective in relieving arthrosis and rheumatism.

In summer, Brigerbad is one of the largest open-air thermal baths in Switzerland with a water area of 2600 m2, offering you a fantastic panorama of the Valais and Bernese Alps. What could be better than relaxing in the warm thermal water and letting your gaze wander over the impressive mountain scenery?

The newly designed thermal baths have had a lot to offer since their reopening at the end of 2014. In summer, 2600 m² of water surface area attract visitors, making Brigerbad the largest open-air thermal baths in the Alps! In addition to relaxation, fun is also guaranteed with a lazy river and alpine slide...

The spacious spa area offers a place of well-being on two floors with various saunas, steam baths, and Kneipp pools. One highlight for decades has been the famous grotto swimming pool carved into the rock with many underwater jets...

The new wellness and beauty area offers you an extensive range of massages, wellness baths, cosmetics, and body care. A professional team is available every day to ensure that you can once again really pamper yourself...

We will spoil you with fine lunch and dinner menus in the Cécile restaurant, which offers a great view of the thermal baths from the garden terrace. In addition, you will find fine snacks and refreshing drinks in the Bistro Cristal and, in summer, in the Buvette La Pergola...

Spa

Cave bath in the rock, saunas, steam saunas, hammam, cold water pot

The spacious spa was completely redesigned during the extensive renovation to create a thermal and wellness oasis in 2013-2014. The area is separate from the rest of the thermal baths and accessible with a red wristband, inviting you to relax and unwind. Children and young people under the age of 16 are not permitted.

The saunas offer daily infusions with special aromas, which are announced on our info screen at the guest center and via announcements. The aromas in the steam saunas also change periodically. To cool off, there is a secluded outdoor area on the upper floor with deck chairs and a cold water tub for refreshing relaxation.

Another highlight is the famous grotto bath in the rock with its 40-42 degree water. For the daring, a quick dip in the adjacent cold water grotto is also worthwhile.
