Your driving instructor, Patrick Bisig
I have been working as a driving instructor for category B since 2010. I also work as a car chauffeur and truck driver for various transport companies.
In my free time, I love to be active: skiing, fitness, kitesurfing, diving, and traveling.
My biggest hobby, skiing, was my profession for a long time. After completing my apprenticeship as a precision mechanic, I worked for several years as a competitive ski coach in Switzerland and abroad. I was a Swiss Snowsports expert, snow sports instructor, and head of the Suvretta Snowsports children's ski school in St. Moritz.
Providing my customers with professional support is a matter of course for me!
You can purchase a CD with the exam questions for categories A, A1, B, M, F, and G, or a theory booklet (without exam questions) from me.
You have the option of taking individual or group theory lessons with me.
My tip for you: No matter which option you choose, take enough time to learn the theory properly and be active in traffic theory lessons. Ask questions. This will be an advantage during practical driving lessons. That way, you'll reach your destination with confidence!
The path to a driver's license

The process
- First aid course
- Application form
- Theory test
- Learner's permit
- Practical driving training
- Traffic theory
- Practical driving test
- Provisional driver's license
1. First aid course: Your help can save lives
- You must complete this course before you can register for the theory test. The course must have been completed within the last six years.
2. Form and eye test: A little bureaucracy & insight
- Fill out the application form (including passport photo and eye test). Take it in person to the road traffic office or the residents' registration office. Don't forget your first aid certificate and ID.
- Good eyesight is essential for safe driving. Have the test done by an ophthalmologist or at an optician's.
3. Theory test: Study, study, study
- You will receive a confirmation letter from the Road Traffic Authority. Now you can register for the theory test. You must answer 90 percent of the 50 questions correctly. You are welcome to order the materials (CD, theory booklet) for your preparation from me.

4. Learner's permit: Now things are starting to happen
- You will receive your learner's permit after passing the theory test, at the earliest on your 18th birthday. Please note: It is only valid for 2 years.
5. Practical driving training: Now it's time to get started with driving!
- Just give me a call and make an appointment for your first driving lesson. By the way, private driving makes sense and is permitted if your accompanying person has held a driver's license for at least 3 years and is at least 23 years old. Please note: Try to practice what you have learned in driving school. Bad habits lead to automatic responses that are difficult to correct.
6. Traffic theory: Mandatory and for your benefit
- Only those who have a learner's permit can participate. You will learn to recognize dangers early on and to better assess your behavior and that of your vehicle.

7. Practical driving test: Full concentration – show what you can do!
- As soon as you have enough experience and confidence, I will register you for the test. A traffic expert will ride with you in the car. They will check whether you can control your vehicle, know the traffic rules, and react in a forward-thinking, considerate, and correct manner even in difficult situations.
8. Provisional driver's license: Gain further experience and confidence
- Your provisional driver's license is valid for 3 years. During this time, you must complete 2 days of further training. Send the two WAB course confirmations to the Road Traffic Authority 1 month before your driver's license expires. You will then receive your permanent driver's license. Please note: You will have to repeat everything if you do not meet the deadline.
