Université Ouvrière de Genève

The Geneva Workers' University (UOG) is an association whose goal is to develop basic and continuing education, primarily for low-skilled individuals, and to promote their social, cultural, economic, and political integration.

To achieve this goal, the UOG organizes courses, seminars, conferences, symposiums, workshops, forums, and other activities that support integration.

To this end, it collaborates with institutions at the cantonal, federal, and international levels that have similar goals, particularly with trade unions.

The UOG is a non-profit association.

It is recognized as a public utility and is financially supported by the State of Geneva and the City of Geneva, the Geneva Cantonal Foundation for Vocational and Continuing Education (FFPC), the municipalities of Geneva, and various other donors. The UOG also works in partnership with the Cantonal Employment Office, certain municipalities, joint committees, local institutions, and all trade union organizations in the canton of Geneva.

The UOG offers

• French as a foreign language (FLE) courses tailored to the different needs and situations of learners, offered in the morning, afternoon, or evening, for all non-French speakers, unemployed people, and non-French-speaking employees in various professional fields
• "Business French" courses tailored to specific professional fields and intended for non-French-speaking staff working for partner companies and/or institutions
• Professional development courses, at the request of professional associations, institutions, or local companies
• "Integration French" courses in interested Geneva municipalities
• Cultural and sporting activities, general culture training, and conferences
   

But also:

• A reception service to guide people according to their requests and needs
• Services and a network of active partners to work on services that help learners in their training
• A room rental service
• A cafeteria: "Les Quatre Saisons"
• A nearby daycare center: "Zone Bleue"
