Vineyard care

The vines in the Steinersteg vineyard require careful care throughout the year. Work on the soil and vegetation is very important in order to achieve an optimal harvest

The work in the wingert can be divided into three major sections, each of which we work on intensively during a specific period. These are the soil, the work on the vines themselves and finally the grape harvest.

At the Steinersteg winery, the grapes are harvested by hand. This has the great advantage that the ripeness and quality of the grapes can be assessed individually and sorted out if necessary.

Especially in difficult years, when the grapes are not all ripe at the same time, hand-picking allows for selective harvesting.

Quality of the grapes

Years of experience and intensive care of the individual vines are a prerequisite for optimum grape quality

The different grape varieties are harvested at different times, which also leads to optimal processing in the wine cellar
