Restaurant Sedel

Located high above Herisau in the beautiful Appenzell region, "der Sedel" remains a popular and nationally renowned destination. On September 1, 2023, the reopening was celebrated and the entire children's paradise was refurbished. In addition to the well-known attractions, there are also new features such as the bocce court and the variety show.

Head chef Jan, sous chef Andreas, and the entire team look forward to
delighting you with their outstanding culinary skills. The restaurant offers fresh, seasonal, and above all homemade specialties. The restaurant is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, but during the high season, when the weather is nice, the self-service buffet and barbecue cart remain open. Here you can also get raw sausage, which can be grilled at the new barbecue area in the middle of the children's paradise.

 

Our beer garden with over 140 seats invites you to enjoy the wonderful view and a beer after work. The restaurant has a hall with seating for up to 80 people and a serviced outdoor area for 60 people. The self-service terrace area can accommodate 120 people.

 

The restrooms are wheelchair accessible, and the entire restaurant, self-service area, and terrace are wheelchair accessible. There are also approximately 150 free parking spaces available on 3 parking levels.

Man's best friend

Dogs are welcome everywhere in our outdoor area. In the restaurant and in the indoor self-service area, we kindly ask you to leave your dogs outside, as indicated by the signs on site. Thank you for your understanding.
