• HEAT PUMP

A heat pump is a thermodynamic device that transfers heat from the coldest environment (thereby cooling it further) to the warmest environment (thereby heating it), whereas naturally, heat diffuses from the warmest to the coldest until temperatures are equal.

• MEDICAL COOLING

Freeze-drying involves removing water from a liquid, paste, or solid product by freezing it and then evaporating the ice under vacuum without melting it. The basic principle is that when water in its solid state is heated at very low pressure, it sublimates, i.e., it passes directly from a solid to a gaseous state. The water vapor (or any other solvent) leaves the product and is captured by freezing using a condenser, or cold trap. This technique preserves the volume, appearance, and properties of the treated product.

• REFRIGERATION

Refrigeration is the technique that guarantees the cold chain so that foodstuffs or food products remain safe during cold storage, manufacturing, and refrigerated transport. Positive or negative refrigeration is based on compressor-evaporator-condenser refrigeration systems with different temperature ranges and refrigerants (positive cold, i.e., above-zero temperatures, or negative cold, i.e., below-zero temperatures).
