Fuego y Alegria in Lausanne
The Fuego y Alegria school was founded in the fall of 1995 in the basement of Place Chauderon 5 in Lausanne, in our studio, where we were already creating and rehearsing our shows. The school is open all year round from Monday to Thursday for beginner, intermediate, and advanced classes, as well as Monday to Friday from 12:30 p.m. for private and semi-private lessons.
Teaching
The teaching offered is based on technique, rhythm, and choreography. We also place great importance on the history, origin, and meaning of the dances we work on. Flamenco must be experienced, and to do so, it is important to understand and feel it, especially since we do not live in the same culture.
Performances
Fuego y Alegria's creations are motivated by a passion for traditional flamenco, where joy and sadness, passion and pain coexist, far from tourist clichés. Classically trained, Christine Guignard, the group's choreographer, also explored jazz, contemporary, character and ballroom dancing before devoting herself entirely to flamenco in 1989.
