Centre Igokat

The Igokat Center has three very different areas of excellence: a dance school, a company, and a production house.

After performing on stages around the world throughout their careers, Igor Piovano and Kathryn Bradney, former principal dancers and ballet masters with the Béjart Ballet Lausanne, have combined their passion for training young and old alike in a friendly setting called the Igokat Center (a contraction of Igor-Kathryn).

The dance school
The Igokat Center offers several dance programs.
Depending on your age and interests, you can enroll in an introductory, training, or personal development program. All classes are open to both men and women.

Igokat is located in the heart of Lausanne and offers a wide range of classes:

Igokat comprises three spacious studios, the first of which was created in 1953 to house the Boris Kniaseff International Dance Academy, named after the "Master of the Stars." It was here that he created his famous floor barre, and in 1954 Serge Lifar, famous for his work with the Paris Opera, took over the studio and delegated its management to his friend Nicolas Zvereff (Diaghilev's Ballets Russes).

The Igokat Company
The Igokat Company was founded in 2007 under the leadership of directors Igor Piovano and Kathryn Bradney, former principal dancers and ballet masters of the Béjart Ballet Lausanne for 19 years. Ten dancers of different nationalities, from Italy to Belgium to the USA, not to mention Switzerland. A neoclassical company where contemporary and classical techniques come together in perfect harmony.

Igokat Film Productions
Igokat Film Productions was born out of an observation: most films about live performances do not do them justice. It is indeed very difficult to reproduce the atmosphere and story of a performance. Igokat Film Productions was created to fill this gap and bring a more artistic vision to a technical process.
