LOC - Lugano Dental Clinic
The Odotoclinic clinic is located in the center of Lugano, just 1 km from the station, which can be reached on foot with a pleasant stroll through the streets of the city center.
Our medical staff is trained and qualified to treat all oral problems with high-quality therapies: conservative dentistry, surgery, implantology, prosthetics, orthodontics, and periodontology.
Our dentists treat all oral conditions (teeth, gums, jawbone, temporomandibular joints) with particular attention and specialization in periodontal disease.
The use of the latest technologies allows us to treat our patients more effectively and, at the same time, less painfully.
TREATMENTS
The daily removal of plaque accumulated on the surface of the teeth and on the soft structures of the oral cavity prevents and stops the progression of diseases affecting the teeth and gums.
Regular scaling is essential for the complete removal of any concretions or debris that are difficult to remove with simple brushing.
This branch of dentistry deals with the anatomical, aesthetic, and functional restoration of decayed, fractured, or otherwise compromised teeth.
In accordance with the latest guidelines in modern dentistry, we perform conservative treatments using aesthetic composite materials.
Endodontics deals with the treatment of dental pulp, i.e., the tissue inside the tooth that contains nerve endings and blood vessels.
The dental pulp can become diseased and undergo necrosis due to caries or dental trauma.
We are very attentive to solving aesthetic problems, ranging from simple whitening of natural teeth to gum surgery.
Natural teeth whitening can be performed professionally at the clinic or at home using trays.
Gum surgery can range from simple gum correction to full-blown periodontal surgery with bone remodeling.
However, aesthetics can also be achieved through conservative treatments with composite and prosthetic materials using all-ceramic crowns or ceramic veneers.
This is the branch of dentistry that deals with the treatment of the tissues supporting the teeth, namely the gums, periodontal ligament, and alveolar bone.
These areas can become diseased at a young age, and the fairly slow and painless progression leads to periodontal disease (pyorrhea) without patients realizing it. The best treatment is undoubtedly prevention through oral hygiene checks and good daily maintenance, but cases of full-blown disease must be treated. Less severe cases can be treated with scaling (root planing), while more severe cases require periodontal surgery.
Prosthetics is the final stage of dental work, allowing us to reconstruct teeth in an aesthetic and functional way.
We can solve aesthetic problems with a single tooth using ceramic veneers, all-ceramic crowns, or traditional metal-ceramic crowns.
Missing teeth can be restored with a prosthesis fixed on natural tooth pillars or with implants.
However, the best results are achieved by completely rehabilitating patients who have lost the aesthetics of their smile and their chewing function.
For several years now, edentulous areas, i.e., areas where teeth are missing, have been rehabilitated through the use of implants, titanium screws that are inserted into the bone.
Once these are well integrated into the bone, they will perform the function of dental roots.
With the help of implants, it is therefore possible to resolve the loss of individual teeth, entire quadrants, and even total edentulism.
This branch of dentistry deals with the correct alignment of teeth.
In the initial phase, it also acts in an orthopedic sense in children, modulating the bone growth of the upper and lower jaws; subsequently, it guides the teeth through the application of metal wires in order to achieve a functional and aesthetic alignment.
Regain your smile with non-invasive periodontal treatment
Periodontal disease, also known as pyorrhea, is a multifactorial infection caused by bacteria that affects the periodontium. The periodontium consists of the tissues that support the teeth (gums, bone, root cementum, and periodontal ligament), and for this reason, if the infection is not treated properly, the ultimate outcome of periodontal disease will be tooth loss.
