Rethink your wellbeing!
At Human Care, the goal is to bring about a change in the patient's physical condition, but also in their emotional and mental approach to their condition.
Physiotherapy becomes a support for creating healthy habits and better managing one's health and wellbeing, so that the benefits remain constant and are not limited to a single physiotherapy session.
The concept behind Human Care
Bio-Psycho-Social Approach
Every painful problem is kept active by several factors simultaneously. On the one hand, there is the presence of the factor that triggers the symptoms: trauma, an accident, an injury, or the chronicity of a previous problem (BIO). Added to this is the concern that the problem is serious and the influence of pain on one's mood and quality of life (PSYCHO). All of this has a negative impact on one's lifestyle, ability to work, family life, or sports, exacerbating a situation that could be more easily resolved if identified early and correctly (SOCIAL).
At Human Care, all these factors are taken into account in order to offer personalized treatment through a high-quality method based on the best scientific evidence, specific to the problem and therefore as effective and decisive as possible.
The three components of the method adopted by Human Care
First of all, the physiotherapist takes the time to listen to the patient during the first session of in-depth medical history and functional assessment and helps them understand their condition. Subsequently, the physiotherapy sessions will be developed around three types of treatment adapted to the patient's needs.
- Manual therapy: aimed at improving joint and muscle function, resolving problems of reduced mobility in a body segment, and alleviating the perception of pain.
- Therapeutic exercise: exercises and instructions aimed at recovering movement limited by pain or following surgery. The exercises are highly personalized for each patient and performed together with the therapist during the session. The exercises can be performed without equipment or with the use of tools for a better positive influence on performance and recovery.
- Education: one of the main components of treatment. In addition to teaching exercises to be performed independently at home, the physical therapist provides practical guidance on managing the patient's problem or pain. Together with the patient, they study the most suitable and truly practicable behavioral strategies with the aim of avoiding future relapses or lifestyle changes to prevent further injuries or trauma of the same type. It is important that decisions about the type of exercises and behaviors to be performed independently are shared, understood, and accepted by the patient, so that they are truly determined to implement them.
