Andrea Fecit
Who I am
Hello everyone, my name is Andrea, I live in Mendrisio, and I have been a physical therapist since 1996.
Over the years, I have studied specific topics in depth to acquire the necessary tools with the aim of improving the quality of life of people who need rehabilitation.
Experience has also taught me that the best results can be achieved when patients are motivated, actively participating in the therapeutic process by changing their habits and putting themselves out there.
Recognized by all health insurance companies, I also see patients privately, by appointment, at the Colonne practice in Via Largo Mario Soldini 1, 6850 Mendrisio.
Home therapy is available in the Mendrisiotto area.
In both areas, I am available for physiotherapy assessments, assessments of aids/assistive devices for individuals, and assessments of
domestic/work environments.

Main specializations
Manual therapy according to the OMT (Orthopedic Manipulative Therapy) Kaltenborn-Evjent concept
Orthopedic Manual Therapy is a specialization in physical therapy for the comprehensive and conservative management of pain and other symptoms caused by neuromuscular-articular dysfunctions of the spine and limbs. The main objective of OMT is to restore maximum, pain-free function of the neuromuscular-articular system (IFOMT 2006) in postural balance.
The Raggi Method® "Postural Rebalancing with a Global Approach"
This method is based on a thorough patient history, aimed at highlighting all traumatic events of a physical and/or psychological nature that, over time, have disrupted postural balance, giving rise to painful symptoms.
Where there is pain (symptom), there is not necessarily the cause of the problem.

Graston technique®
This is a scientifically proven, instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization technique that effectively treats scar tissue and fascial restrictions.
Specially designed stainless steel instruments are used in conjunction with therapeutic exercise.
NMT INSTITUTE NeuroMuscular Taping
A non-invasive, non-pharmacological technique that uses adhesive elastic tape to provide mechanical stimulation that creates space between tissues, promotes cellular metabolism, activates the body's natural healing abilities, and normalizes neuromuscular proprioception.
GLA:D®
Acronym for Good Life OsteoArthris in Denmark, this program has been active since 2013 and consists of three parts:
<<counseling and education>>, <<exercises>> and <<quality control>> through data collection.
The goal of GLA:D is to implement internationally recognized best practice recommendations in clinical practice in order to promote a good quality of life for people with hip and knee osteoarthritis.
Lymphatic drainage
This is a manual technique aimed at promoting the drainage of lymphatic fluids from the tissues, with the consequent elimination of the various toxins that have accumulated there.
Through gentle pressure on the skin, this type of maneuver stimulates the reabsorption of edema, regulates the neurovegetative system, and promotes the repair of wounds or other irritations.
Swallowing disorders (dysphagia)
Dysphagia refers to difficulty in passing food, drink, and medication from the mouth to the stomach.
It is often caused by a disorder, syndrome, or disease that affects the nerves or muscles of the tongue, mouth, or throat, leading to difficulty in coordinating and/or controlling swallowing.
