Hirschen

Nestled between Lake Thun and Lake Brienz lies the municipality of Matten, directly adjacent to Interlaken. The Mattenwirtshaus, first mentioned as an inn in 1666, is one of the oldest inns in the region. Staying at the Hirschen Inn

The 20 individually furnished rooms combine cosiness and comfort in chalet style. Low wooden ceilings are reminiscent of the building's 300-year history, as are the decorative bull's-eye windows. All rooms have their own bathroom/shower, toilet, TV, Wi-Fi, refrigerator, and safe. The lounge invites you to linger and can also be set up for small meetings or private events.

A successful start to the day is guaranteed with the generous breakfast buffet in the Säli. The various rooms in the Hirschen restaurant are very popular for family celebrations and events and can be individually arranged for up to 40 people.

Dining room and Stübli

The Hirschen cuisine ties in with the history of the 17th-century building and promises enjoyable moments with traditional Swiss cuisine. Rustic fare with fondue and rösti, tender fillet on a hot stone, or a special recommendation from the chef are served in the rustic dining room and in the distinctive Stübli.

Garden terrace and wine cellar

Fine wines taste even better under the beautifully curved vaulted ceiling of the wine cellar: the hotel's own wine cellar is open for aperitifs or small events and can be accessed directly from the dining room. The garden terrace guarantees convivial moments in idyllic surroundings: with views of the mountains and the historic wooden façade of the Hirschen, summer days become a special experience.
