Breath
Breath is life
Breath accompanies us from our first to our last breath. Every living being must breathe. Through breathing, we take in vital oxygen. This is needed for the metabolic process in our body. The carbon dioxide produced by this process is exhaled through breathing. The more unrestricted our breathing is, the more energy and vitality we have at our disposal.
Breathing flows naturally, involuntarily, and autonomously. However, it can also be influenced deliberately, for example through movement, speaking, and singing, or for conscious relaxation.
Breathing is movement
Each breath moves our body in a gentle way that is adapted to our own rhythm. The main breathing muscle, the diaphragm, and various muscle groups are involved in this breathing movement. This movement is transferred to various organs (e.g., digestive organs) in our body. For example, the lowering and swinging back of the diaphragm massages our abdominal organs.
Breath is expression
Exhalation allows us to express ourselves, because only through it can we speak, sing, or laugh heartily.
How we express ourselves depends on our voice. Whether intentionally or unintentionally, it always reflects a person's state of mind. In addition to the human body, posture, movement, and mental state are also involved in voice production. Personal strength and mental fortitude are required to present oneself with a confident voice. Working on one's breathing helps to improve expressiveness.
Treatment
In my practice, I mainly work in individual therapy sessions.
This allows me to address your personal concerns. During the breathing treatment, you lie fully clothed on a comfortable couch. Your breathing responds to manual stimuli such as pressure, stretching, or movement. I use my hands to support your breathing movements, enabling you to become more aware of your body and your breathing. Developmental processes are triggered, your breathing rhythm becomes more balanced, leading to a better body awareness, greater resilience, self-confidence, and inner stability.
The treatment is supplemented by a personal consultation according to your needs.
