Hilpert Raphael

Stone sculptors ( Latin: Statuarius or Sculptor) create sculptural works from natural stone. Unlike stonemasons, their work is more creative and less geometric, meaning they do not produce profile work or structural elements such as stairs or kitchen countertops. Stone sculptors can work creatively or translate existing designs into stone.

Raphael Hilpert has been working as a stone sculptor in Basel and the surrounding area since 2002. After completing his apprenticeship as a stone sculptor, Raphael Hilpert opened his own stone sculpting studio at Hörnliallee 75 in Riehen, Basel, as a young entrepreneur. Equipped with a mobile workshop, Raphael Hilpert also carries out sculpting work and inscriptions in various local cemeteries.
