Osteopathy is a diagnostic and therapeutic treatment that can be used to identify and treat functional disorders throughout the body. Osteopathy is a holistic form of therapy and is therefore not limited to combating symptoms, but gets to the root of the cause.
The various functions of the organism are closely interrelated. The body thus forms a unit of muscles, connective tissue, bones, and organs that cannot be viewed in isolation but are interdependent.
The starting point for osteopathy is the connective tissue. This runs through the entire body like a spider's web. Any disorders that occur are transmitted via the connective tissue from one part of the body to another. The aim of osteopathy is to eliminate the cause of the disorders. This is achieved by stimulating the body's natural forces, which in turn stimulates the body's self-healing powers.
Both diagnosis and therapy are performed manually. The osteopath palpates any tension and loosens the muscles with special hand movements, activates the nerves, or improves the flow in veins, arteries, and lymphatic vessels. In this way, the body's self-healing powers are activated.
Osteopathy is not magic, but requires profound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, embryology, and pathology.
