The Flury Foundation and its history
History
The Schiers Hospital was founded in 1881 and is operated by the Flury Foundation in Schiers. The hospital celebrated a remarkable anniversary in 2006. As one of the oldest hospitals in the canton of Graubünden, the hospital celebrated its 125th anniversary on July 10, 2006, looking back on an exceptionally long history of serving the population of the Prättigau valley. To mark the 125th anniversary, the hospital's long-standing chief physician, Dr. Peter Boesch, kindly undertook to update the hospital's history. However, this work does not only provide a historical account of the last 25 years of the hospital. In addition to continuing the hospital's history in the first part of the book, the second part provides an equally interesting and varied insight into the everyday life of a former chief physician at the hospital in Schiers.
The complete commemorative publication for the 125th anniversary can be found here or in the download area.
