History

"Support and Communication" are words that sum up the spirit of VISA-CENTRE.

VISA-CENTRE is a non-profit organization founded in 1987. It is accredited and recommended by the Department of Education, Culture, and Sport (DECS) of the canton of Valais, but is independent.

Aimed at secondary school pupils and students, VISA-CENTRE helps and advises them in organizing their extracurricular activities. When it was founded, its purpose was to provide students with summer jobs or information about language study abroad programs. This original and practical concept, which provided a wealth of information, quickly attracted the interest of students.

In 1992, VISA-CENTRE introduced a new service: organizing summer tutoring courses and providing support throughout the school year. In this way, it not only provides valuable assistance to students in difficulty, but also continues to offer jobs to university students, as they are the ones who teach these courses.

Very active until 2006 in the area of summer jobs, after providing work for many young people every summer, VISA-CENTRE was unfortunately no longer able to continue this activity in a suitable and satisfactory manner due to a number of unfavorable economic and logistical factors.

However, it is still very much present and available when it comes to language stays, for which it provides all the essential advice needed to make the right decision when choosing a stay that will be both satisfying and successful.

VISA-CENTRE is a truly useful and effective link between those who want to learn and work, those who want to improve their language skills, and the language schools it trusts.
