Refractive error is not a disease, but rather an imperfection of the eye that often leads to headaches and watery/tired eyes. There are three types of refractive errors:
- Nearsightedness or myopia
- Farsightedness or hyperopia
- Astigmatism in combination with hyperopia or myopia
Do you need high-quality eyeglass lenses and/or contact lenses (daily disposable contact lenses/monthly disposable contact lenses)? Or sports glasses, perhaps even children's glasses for your little ones? Are you interested in progressive lenses? Are you familiar with the possibilities offered by premium lenses? Have you heard of EyeLT lenses, for example? (These improve near vision by up to 40%). Have you noticed a decline in your close-up vision, but don't want to wear progressive glasses all the time? (Then there are progressive lenses for you, i.e., multifocal lenses—these require very precise fitting, which is a little more complicated than usual). If you have astigmatism, semi-rigid (i.e., a cross between soft and hard) contact lenses are often the best solution. But perhaps you simply need protective glasses for a variety of purposes? Depending on your personal case and pattern of impairment, you may also be entitled to certain benefits from your compulsory basic insurance and/or supplementary insurance from your health insurance company, e.g., for cataracts, diabetes, macular diseases, eye muscle disorders, amblyopia, or medication. You will receive reimbursement from your health insurance company for lenses, depending on the diopter strength for myopia, hyperopia, and anisometropia. Irregular astigmatism, keratoconus, corneal diseases or distortions/injuries, iris defects, or conditions following corresponding operations are also covered.
In all these and most other cases, you have come to the right place. We consider each customer or patient and each vision problem to be unique. Because every eye is unique. That is why there can be no general patent solutions for vision tests, vision correction techniques, etc., but rather the best possible advice and the most individualized solution.
When it comes to eyeglasses, we offer attractive solutions with the advice of our opticians, professional analysis equipment, and brand-name frames in our select range, including the following
brands:
Ray Ban, Adidas, Silhouette, Diesel, Charmant, (Emporio) Armani, Tavat, Oakley, Valentino, Mollerus, Dilem, Swarovski, and more. You can also try on a large selection of sunglasses and special glasses, such as shooting glasses.
When it comes to contact lenses, you can expect not only our renowned excellent standard lens fitting, but also special lens fittings for a wide range of eye problems, including for children. We are here to help and advise you!
In addition to correctable, sometimes age-related visual impairments, there is also a condition known as "low vision," which cannot be corrected with simple glasses or contact lenses.
The following causes can lead to such vision impairment or "low vision":
- Age-related macular degeneration (AMD)
- Diabetic retinopathy
- Vascular retinal problems
- Glaucoma (increased eye pressure)
- Traumatic eye injuries
- Retinitis pigmentosa (hereditary disease of the retina)
- Usher syndrome (hereditary disease affecting vision and hearing)
Our individual low vision consultation aims to make the best possible use of the patient's remaining vision. During a detailed diagnostic consultation, the patient's individual visual impairment is assessed with the help of tests and situational discussions. Depending on individual needs and everyday situations, the appropriate aids are then used. Of course, up-to-date advice is also important here so that you can see as well as possible in the future.
