Buchhandlung Comedia

Founded in 1982, the cooperative bookstore Comedia emerged from the second oldest comic shop in German-speaking Switzerland. It sees itself as a committed, independent bookstore providing space for social and cultural discourse. Beyond a general book assortment, Comedia cultivates distinct specialties: it carries one of the largest selections of mangas and comics between Zurich and Innsbruck, as well as a curated range of world music on vinyl and CD (focusing on Africa, the Caribbean, and the Balkans). Political literature, feminism, and non-fiction on current affairs are also central focuses. As a cooperative, the shop is actively shaped by its team and members, often serving as a venue for readings.
