CORABOIS SA is a company specializing in the timber trade. It has been in business since 1939 and now has nearly 40 employees.

• Showroom

Come and visit our showroom, where more than 500 product samples (cladding & paneling, parquet flooring, worktops, doors, and terraces, etc.) are on display across two floors.

• Goods depot

We have nearly 6,000 items in stock in the following product ranges: Construction wood, Solid wood, Formwork, Consumables, Facades, Insulation, Garden & Terrace, Paneling, Solid panels, Particle boards, Doors, Flooring and Treatment.

• Cutting workshop

For your cutting needs, our highly qualified specialist technicians use two horizontal panel saws, an edger, a CNC machine, a trimmer, a 4-sided planer, and a crosscut saw for framing, square timber, joists, and solid wood, depending on your requirements.

• Delivery service

In principle, deliveries are made to the cantons of Geneva and Vaud.

History

• 1939 – Creation: Originally , the company was a sawmill that impregnated electricity poles and manufactured paving stones, which were delivered throughout Switzerland.

• 1960 – Evolution: As the sawing and impregnation business began to decline in the 1960s, Mr. Paul BINGGELI, who ran the company until 1986, had to find other outlets and began to develop a solid wood trading business.

• 1980 – Expansion: In 1980, the wood impregnation plant experienced a new boom and became CORABOIS SA when it was acquired by the BALTESCHWILER group.

• 1986 – Passing the torch: In 1986, Alain TRUCHET took over the management of CORABOIS SA, succeeding Paul BINGGELI, who retired. From 1986 to 2017, Alain TRUCHET continued to develop the trade in solid wood, cross-laminated timber, chipboard, and plywood of all kinds.

• 2002 – New site: In 2002, thanks to its new

  site in Vernier, the company expanded considerably, increasing its trading capacity.

• 2017 – Present: After 27 years at CORABOIS SA,Rémy CONDEVAUX took over as CEO in 2017. He further increased the company's trading capacity by acquiring modern, computerized machinery.

• 2020 – Showroom: CORABOIS SA undertook the development of a 600 m² showroom on two levels and a 3,000 m² outdoor exhibition area.
