Maurice Roseng - Swissflor

Horticulturist Maurice Roseng stopped producing flowers fifteen years ago. Except for peonies, which he will put on sale at the end of May. Present only at the Lausanne market, he spends the rest of his time importing and selling to stores. His priority is Switzerland, he says. Especially for tulips and dahlias.

Like those of his neighbor in Saint-François, his roses cross the Atlantic from Ecuador. "They are the most resistant." He knows his suppliers personally: "We see each other every two years." For the rest of his imports, he tries to "avoid Holland, it's too mass-produced" and prefers France and Italy. His goal? To stand out with original flowers, such as Japanese lisianthus.
