Maurice Roseng - Swissflor

Horticulturist Maurice Roseng stopped producing flowers fifteen years ago. Except for peonies, which he will put on sale at the end of May. Present at the Lausanne market only, he spends the rest of his time importing and selling to stores. His priority is Switzerland, he says. Like those of his neighbor in Saint-François, his roses cross the Atlantic from Ecuador. "They're the most resistant." He knows his suppliers personally: "We see each other every two years." For the rest of his imports, he tries "to avoid Holland, it's too much of a mass" and prefers France and Italy. His aim? To stand out with original flowers, such as lisianthus from Japan.
