Universal Mechanic GmbH

We worked at ABB Unifer AG in the Oerlikon base, a department that was mainly involved in parts manufacturing, prototype and fixture construction, but also provided service and maintenance for the entire Oerlikon plant. At the end of 2000, ABB Unifer AG decided to close the Oerlikon base, and we were given the opportunity to become independent with the existing inventory through a management buyout.
We decided to seize this opportunity, and so Universal Mechanic GmbH was founded on January 1, 2001.
Due to construction work on the old ABB site in Oerlikon, we had to relocate, which we did at the end of 2001 and beginning of 2002. We are now operating from our new location in Volketswil-Hegnau.
