The Bächtelen Foundation in Wabern near Bern is a center of excellence for the basic vocational training of young people with special needs. The Bächtelen Foundation offers a wide range of services in the areas of assessment, training, and integration.
The aim of the Bächtelen Foundation is to provide holistic and modern support to young people with special needs in integrating into the primary labor market, achieving the greatest possible independence, and participating in society.
The Bächtelen Foundation offers in-house vocational training at the levels of practical training according to INSOS, basic training with a Federal Vocational Certificate (EBA), and training with a Federal Certificate of Competence (EFZ).
In cooperation with companies from the private sector, it is also possible to complete training externally. The Bächtelen Foundation supports and accompanies the trainees during their training and is available to answer any questions the training companies may have.
The training areas include: construction, horticulture, housekeeping/catering/gastronomy, cooking, agriculture, property maintenance/technical services, painting/plastering, metalworking, carpentry, and bicycle repair.
In addition to training, various types of accommodation are available that can be used during the training period.
