Swiss Museum of Transport – Lucerne
Switzerland's most visited museum presents the past, present, and future of mobility in an interactive and varied way. In addition to the museum, unique attractions such as the movie theater, planetarium, Swiss Chocolate Adventure, and Media World invite visitors to explore.
Vals and Valser water
With Valser, we inspire the Swiss to find their way through the barriers of everyday life and free themselves from their own limitations.
Entlebuch and Kemeriboden-Bad
Time to take a breather
Appenzell
The village of Appenzell and the canton of Appenzell Innerrhoden are located in a unique hilly landscape north of the Säntis. The region offers rural customs such as alpine cattle drives, cultural traditions such as folk music and dancing, and hiking in the Alpstein area.
Glasi Hergiswil
The Hergiswil glassworks on Lake Lucerne has been in existence since 1817. The Siegwart brothers found a production site here with ideal transport routes for energy and goods. In 1975, the glassworks was due to close.
Val de Travers
Val de Travers, which is dominated by the watch industry, stretches from Lake Neuchâtel across the Jura to the French border. Asphalt mines and the Creux du Van rock formation are just as much a part of Val de Travers as a sparkling wine cellar and steam trains. However, the secret star of the valley is the "Green Fairy."
La Gruyère
The La Gruyère region, with its green hills and the peaks of the Fribourg Pre-Alps, is home to the world-famous "Le Gruyère AOP" cheese. The medieval picture-book town of Gruyères sits enthroned on a small hill.
Sempach Bird Observatory Visitor Center
The Swiss Ornithological Institute in Sempach is the nationally supported center for research and protection of native birds and their habitats. The new visitor center is a unique destination and tourist attraction on Lake Sempach.
Marbachegg – Unexpected views
On the north side of the Schrattenfluh limestone mountains in the canton of Lucerne, but actually almost in the Emmental, because this is where one of the best Emmental cheeses is produced. Marbachegg lies on the watershed between the Ilfis and Emme river basins and is part of the UNESCO Entlebuch Biosphere Reserve.
Schynige Platte
Even the ride on the nostalgic cog railway with its open carriages is an experience in itself – and as you climb higher, the view of the breathtaking mountains opens up.
