As a national organization, GINETEX Switzerland is the first point of contact for all matters relating to textile labeling, licensing, and further development in line with the needs of the textile industry.

First point of contact for industry, trade, and consumers

GINETEX informs manufacturers, retailers, sales staff, and consumers about the correct and up-to-date labeling of textiles. It is the point of contact for answering questions from its licensees and interested companies or consumers about textile labeling.

Enforcement and assurance of the ISO standard

GINETEX care labels have been an ISO standard since 2005. GINETEX thus ensures the uniform presentation of care symbols with the help of trademark protection measures. It also supports the textile industry in the correct application of these symbols.

It is responsible for granting licenses, which are required for the use of trademark-protected care labels in Switzerland.

Adaptation to technical and ecological developments

The introduction of new fibers and finishes, new detergents, and new solvents for professional textile cleaning, as well as changes to washing programs, may require adjustments or innovations in textile labeling.

GINETEX Switzerland therefore works closely with all parties and sectors interested in textile labeling at the national level. It also informs licensees and contractual partners about any relevant changes.

Expansion of the national and international network

The national organization GINETEX Switzerland continuously maintains and expands its contacts within the framework of its cooperation with the national organizations of GINETEX and the European and international standards organizations CEN and ISO.
